It is a celebration of life and not just a festival

The Christmas season or celebration is one that is often misunderstood, or the true value and relevance is intentionally suppressed by some people for their own personal momentary fulfilment and benefit.

The Christmas season is really a big deal not only for the practicing Christians (who are the flag-bearers of this unique celebration) but for several businesses and other related ventures and unfortunately, those who are not even Christians.

It almost looks like the reason for the celebration is pushed aside and the focus for many is.

food, merriment, frivolity, Christmas trees, decorations, holidays, fashion etc.

For the major commercial drivers, it is purely for business benefits, it is the holiday marketing campaigns, including a calendar of tactics and promotions, messaging, consistent brand visuals and overall marketing strategies on almost all social media outlets and traditional broadcasting stations to further push their own agenda.

It almost seems that what we now have is what I call a "Commercial Christmas". The term commercial refers to activities of commerce—business operations intended for an exchange on the market with the goal of earning profits [Investopedia]. Rather than the celebration of a life-giver.

It is rare to see even one advert that mentions or promotes the significance of the Christmas season, except for the churches who are not carried away with frivolities and do not debate on how big their Christmas trees are or how beautiful their Christmas decoration looks.

I will therefore advocate and encourage influencers in the media industry, in churches, digital marketers, bloggers and concerned individuals to please find every opportunity (or take advantage of an existing one) to share the real truth about Christmas. The season should not be limited to just buying and selling or the massive marketing campaigns for shopping.

It is not wrong to shop around or celebrate with friends and be merry in this brilliant season, but it is important that the messages about the reason for Christmas is shared everywhere, both in traditional means and social media.

I challenge the flag-bearers (Christians) to also emulate the business companies out there by starting a massive & aggressive campaign, even 4-5 months ahead of Christmas, with sponsored short video clips on broadcasting stations/social media, sharing the true message of Christmas - the birth of the savior of the world. The birth of the one who came into this world by the power of the Holy Spirit and also died for the sins of world's that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but receive eternal life, most especially life in abundance -with nothing missing, lacking or broken [John10:10, Matt 1:21, John 3:16, Isaiah 9:6-7, Romans 6:23].

The world is awaiting the manifestation of the true followers of Christ, to share the good news through whatever channel is convenient to them. This wonderful gift of God that we have in Christ Jesus should not be pushed aside but proclaimed, so that people who do not know who Christ is, understand why we have Christmas. To give them the opportunity to learn that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father God except through Him [John 14:6, Romans 8:19]. It is not enough to say I believe in God, and you don't have a relationship with Jesus - it will be a waste of your time.

Let us celebrate Christmas together with the mindset and reflection of the coming of Jesus Christ, His death and the resurrection. He did all of that for you and me, just to show how much you are loved by God and He is coming back in His glory to take you with him when it is time, where there will no face mask or Tier 1/2/3/4 variable lockdown:)

Let this mind be in you.

I love you, but God loves you more.

Cheers to Christmas.
