There is more to life than what you think.

Get a life is a phrase used when you're expressing frustration with someone because their life seems boring and you want them to do more exciting things or they seem to care too much about unimportant things.

Many people use the word "life" loosely, they barely understand what it really means. Interestingly. Wikipedia says life pertains to the significance of living or existence in general which seems incredible. I like how the definition has been split into two forms as underlined.

Isn't it interesting that many people care less about their source/origin of life, the significance of life, the giver of life, the value of life, how much more eternal life. Unfortunately many are just merely existing and following every direction of the wind, tossed to and fro aimlessly without a purpose.

I'm wondering what Ben Franklin was thinking when he wrote over 200 years ago that "Many people die at 25 and aren't buried until they are 75".

Could it be that he sensed many people especially young adult don't even know or bother to find out about where they come from? who they are and where they are going? Could it be why many young people lack vision, purpose and only chase after material things, instant richness in money, fame and temporary gains with no long term sustainability of life in mind?

Some young adult even considers the entertainment industry as the only relevant sector for them to triumph without considering if they have the talent or in-depth passion, required skill to excel in the sector or even ready to go through the due process but no, most just want to become overnight celebrity. The most shocking thing is that if you ask the simple question "who is your role model?" 7 out of 10 young adult would probably mention one music celebrity that isn't worth celebrating or proud of.

It got me thinking, what does the future holds for S.T.E.M, Innovation, Research & Creativity, Leadership, Governance & Politics, Law, Business, Economic, Social Development & Vocational Studies etc. or becoming a blogger or youtuber or maybe musician is the only focus?

On the other hand, does the society still upholds these virtues for life such as hard work, patience, commitment, diligence, endurance, honesty, perseverance, respect, honor, authenticity, contentment, gratitude, excellence, modesty, reliability, service, self-discipline, trust? just to mention a few.

You might be wondering, where is Femi going with all these highlights?

The truth remains, there is more to life than what you think. For you to live a significant, fruitful & impactful life. it is very important you understand these five pillars of life.

1. Source/Origin of life,

2. Giver of life,

3. Significance of life,

4. Value of life,

5. Eternal life.

Source/Origin of life

Truth be told, you are created by God The Father in his own image. [Gen 2:7, 1:27]

"Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature."

"So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them."

The word "breathe" is translated as life/spirit. I hope you find this simple and clear that you are created by God and in his likeness.

If you have ever considered how important and valued is Tesla to Elon Musk and how great worth & precious is Amazon to Jeff Bezos or how Facebook is treasured by Mark Zuckerberg then you will understand how priceless, valuable, precious, cherished, dearest, highly esteemed you are to God our Father in Heaven who created you.

Why do you think many products come with manual, terms & conditions, return policy, warranty, guarantee and so on? it is simply because their brand/logo is on the product and that their reputation is at stake if the product ends up not fit for purpose.

The word "Guarantee" is a formal assurance given to the customer about the state of the product are true and declares that the manufacturer will be responsible for the repair or replacement, if found defective.

And the work "warranty" implies a commitment given by the seller concerning the product quality.

How much more your heavenly Father, The manufacturer/creator of heaven & earth. The one who created you and says "You are very good" [Gen 1:31]

Your life is precious to God. He is either proud of you or displeased with you however you choose to live your life, the truth remains - He is committed to your success in life. Your failure doesn't glorify His brand. Don't forget you carry his image/logo/brand.

For His divine power has given us everything that pertains to life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness

That word "Glory" means everything He is, He has & He can do - Pst Nuel Manufor.

Do not limit or undervalue yourself. Your life is important to Him because He gave you in the first place.

No wonder King David said "The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life" [Psalm 121:7]

I hope you find this enlightening. I will continue with the giver of life in the next article - Watch out.
