Words, mind and thoughts can be very powerful...

This is a short and interesting story of a woman who lived in Shunem, a well-to-do woman. She came across a man of God called Elisha who often comes around and she respected this prophet Elisha as a holy man of God. 2 Kings 4:8-37
Interestingly, this woman showed kindness to the prophet by providing a small room in her house of course she took the permission from her husband – very wise woman! This was done so that the prophet can have a free short let room to stay whenever he comes around.
Now, prophet Elisha as a very sensitive man of God was curious - what have I done to deserve this kindness? what do you want me to do for you? He asked the woman.
With the smartness of the prophet servant Gehazi, he found out the woman doesn’t have a son and her husband is old.
Immediately, the prophet swing into action, prophesied that by this time next year, you will have a son.
Fast forward, she had a son, he grew and later was sick, unfortunately, he died.
She called her husband and told him she needs to run to the prophet and get the man of God.
Now this is my body of my message…
At this point, her husband asked, why are you going to see the prophet? today is not Sunday neither there is any form of celebration.
You won’t believe the response of the woman. She replied with just three words, it is well. [Verse 23]. Can you just imagine that? The woman who her son has just died, and her husband asking her whereabout, all she said was it is well – Wow, what a deep and right mindset.
The interesting thing for me is that even as she approached the prophet from afar, the prophets’ servants reached out to her and asked several questions but still her response was - IT IS WELL the second time.
Fast forward to verse 28, did you notice she never uttered a statement that her son was dead.
She is such a wise and courageous woman.
Now, the prophet followed her home, even asked his servant to lay his staff on the child but nothing happened, the prophet thought it will be business as usual, but this case is different.
Verse 33 says, he went into the room, shut the door behind the woman and his servant.
The simple question is what situation are you going through now? You may need to shut the door behind unbelief, shut the door behind doubt, shut the door behind grumbling or complaining and pray to the Lord just as the prophet did.
The impact of the woman’s words, minds and thoughts with combination of the prayer raised that child to life.
She said it is well all through the situation, and on top of that prayer.
What is it you are going through this time and season, are your words aligning with your prayers?
Our words, minds and thoughts are very powerful. Aligning these three things with effective and consistent prayer life with little faith will lead to the good result and transformation we desire.
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. [Col 4:6]
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” [Romans 10:10, 13]
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. [Philippians 4:8]
I pray for you that may the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. [Psalms 19:14]
