The Lord will Provide.
Furthermore on what we've learnt on how powerful our thoughts, minds and words are, let me also share some unique learning points from the life of Abraham.
Genesis 22 gives an account of a very difficult test of love conducted by God with Abraham. Imagine God asking him to sacrifice his only son whom he loves on one of the mountains he will tell him as a burnt offering.
The most important thing I'd like to point out in all the passage is Abraham's mindset all through this burdensome test process.
He rose early to fulfil God's instruction
Verse 3: So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him
What kind of a man gets up early in the morning to complete such a task of sacrificing his own son to God. Most men, naturally will brood on it probably for days eventually even if they will yield to the instruction it would most likely be at the last minute.
Man like Abraham, full of faith, a man that feared God and very wise as well, he knows if God can give him the child at the age of 100years, then losing his child for God is not the end, He can raise another one because He is Almighty.
What has God told you to give or sacrifice that seems like its the whole world and you can't let go? What have you occupied yourself with that doesn't give you any chance or time to spend with God?
Some even find it difficult to give an hour of their time to attend a Sunday church service not to talk of going for a mid-week service or prayer meeting but they can sit down to watch not just a 2hr movie but season/series type.
Some people don't even give up to half of the money they spend on their haircut or hairstyle/extension for offering.
Do not be deceived, God cannot be mocked, A man reaps what he sows. Be wise brethren, blessed are the doers of the word not just the hearers [James 1:22-25]
Let us learn from our Father Abraham, prioritise the things of God. if you honour God, He will honour you.
2. Abraham heading to a place yet to disclosed by God.
Why will God ask a man to go to a place that he will show him and then sacrifice his only son and not even mention the exact location. For that reason, Abraham has just enough reason to sit back and do nothing.
Man like Abraham, despite not giving the full description of the location or a map, he still rose very early, grabbed his son, materials for burnt offering and two of his servants and embarked on the journey by faith.
He had to travel for 3 days, I wonder what was going through his mind on the first and second day while travelling. Just on the third day, The Lord opened to his to see the place of the sacrifice. Now at this point, watch his words...
Verse 5: And Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you.”
Did you notice he never mention to his servants he was going to kill his son? he calls the event worship. Even when his son Isaac asked him, Father, we have the wood, fire but where is the lamb for the burnt offering? He simply replied "The Lord will provide"
He would have said - boy! you are the sacrifice but he chose his words wisely. I hope you find this interesting. Always proclaim what you would like to see when you go through diverse challenges, it is a waste of time iterating or uttering the negative things happening around you repetitively, it will not change anything. You may not feel well right now or feel like you're winning in those situations and tribulations nevertheless, proclaim with your mouth what you would like to see in prayer [Phil 4:6]. Lamenting about the situation will not change anything just as worrying is like a rocking chair, moving no where - let not Gods word be far from your lips and believe in your heart it will come into manifestation. Will you believe what is written in the word of God about yourself and destiny or believe that negative report from someone who has no idea of the ordinances of heavens? [Job 38:33]
It is quite disheartening that many Christians have read the book of Genesis - about how God created the heavens and the earth, lights, firmaments and all things . with His words and by the Word (Jesus) and also blessed man with authority to have dominion, yet most Christians still do not understand the creative power in the word of God. [John 1:1-3, Col 1:16]
Rom 4:16: Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
Rev 12:11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
It is time to repent and start to live up to the identity we have in Christ Jesus so that we can live a victorious life here on earth and fulfil destiny. Do not allow the devil to sieve you like wheat or toss you to and fro from pillar to post. Go and sit down and meditate on the word of God, pray with understanding derived from the scriptures. There is no time to mess about, the devil is not playing around even in these end times. Be wise my brothers and sisters.
3. Abraham words became his reality by not dwelling on his situation
By faith Abraham told his son Isaac when asked about the lamb for sacrifice - "The Lord will provide" and indeed, the Lord provided a substitute for Isaac and not only that, his words became his reality, the specific word he uttered became a landmark till date. He built an altar and called it "The Lord Will Provide" - An unforgettable peak. [Gen 22:13]
Brethren, the most incredible thing one can do in life is to walk with God, build intimacy with Him to the extent that your faith is unshaken no matter what happens around you not because you are a super-human but just because you believe His words and promises. [Num 23:19]
Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance. [Heb 6:12]
I hope you are not offended by this charge. I love you and I will not sit here writing this piece if the purpose is not to encourage and bless you in order for you attain everything God has in store for you.
God bless you!
