Do you need help today?

Just recently, my little daughter who is just 3yrs+ walked up to me and said - Daddy! can you help me with this please? This was the first time my daughter will ever utter that statement and I was shocked for a moment. For me it is not just about the actual object she needs my help with but I was moved with compassion and an unusual eagerness as I see her expectations and confidence that she expressed that daddy can help with this and so I stoop down and replied sure I will. I helped her immediately with a bright smile on my face.

As you are reading this piece right now, I can confidently tell you that our God our Father in heaven has much more interest, willingness and deep compassion to help you with whatever you may be going through.

I understand from the scripture in Matthew 7:11 "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him"

How much more your heavenly Father, what an audacious statement to utter. If you think you love your someone really deeply as humans, Gods love is even deeper than that and He expressed this by giving us His only Son to die in our place for our sin so that we may have peace in this life and spend eternity with God our Father.

Romans 6:4 "For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."

Some of you may have very good friends, even best friends, family members, good colleagues at work or in the church but I'm glad to let you know that only Jesus can love you unconditionally and help you without any initial judgement or condemnation [John 8:1-11]. He is the only reliable person you can trust and will never fail you or disappoint you. I'm saying this confidently because He is first my best friend followed by my spouse and I have experienced His grace and favor in ways that I couldn't have imagined its possible.

Do you have a relationship with Jesus? can you humble yourself like my daughter did and simply ask him to help you. This is our Lord who helps.

If you don't understand how much God loves you and how He has helped you thus far, you wouldn't know how to extend help to other people.

We love and help others because God did that to us first and we acknowledge and receive His love and care. Freely you have receive, freely give.

Romans 8:32 "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" Even at the point of writing this message, the love of God keeps overwhelming my heart with tears of joy rolling down my eyes.

My brothers and sisters, you need to believe and accept this truth to heart not just having the head knowledge in which trouble shows up and you begin to act like someone who does not have an helper. There is nothing difficult for God to do [Jer. 32:27], He is the Love of all loves, King of all kings. The same God who created you in His likeness/image. He wants to associate and fellowship with you.

Consider how beautifully He created the whole world and the firmament, animals and every other things that live on earth and in water, and He looked at all these things and said IT IS GOOD!. However, imagine for a moment, having created man and he watched him carefully and said "The Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” [Gen 2:18].

God our Father is always interested about our welfare. and always looking out for us. He is so thoughtful that He said I will make you a helper. Wow, that is the mind and make up of our Father "Love" - Love that is so deep, wide, high that overflows to the extent that all He could think is the provision of a "Helper". [Ephe. 3:17-18]

Why do you want to be live in this world without having a genuine relationship with the one that helps, the one whose heart is to support you, protect you, love you, take care of you and above all render help where it is required.

Open up your heart to Him today and look up to Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.

Heb.13:5-6 - For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you. So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

Psalm 46:1 - "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble."

Isaiah 41:14 - “Fear not, you worm Jacob, You men of Israel! I will help you,” says the Lord And your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel."

Psalm 18:2 - "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

Nahum 1:7‭ - "God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble".

We need to move from waiting for help (Psalm 121:1-2) to actually coming boldly to the throne of Grace to receive help [Heb. 4:14-16]

Let us pray: Lord God my Father, thank you for who you are to me, thank you for your lovingkindness towards me even when I don't deserve it. Thank you for looking for ways to help me, guide me, lead me and bring me in-line with your plans.

My Lord my God, I surrender all to you, I acknowledge your majesty, your love and overwhelming wiliness to help me whenever and wherever. I receive your love, you care and I yield myself to you Holy Spirit as my helper here on earth, please guide and help me in all my affairs in Jesus name. From now on, let the Lord's Grace, love and mercy, communion of the Holy Spirit be with me now and forever more. Amen.

Thank you for reading this message. Please watch out for part 2 where I will be sharing scriptures and knowledge on how God helps us in different areas of our lives and how to position ourselves to receive help from God our Father.

God bless you.
