Pain is necessary

The year 2020 has been an amazing year for some people and for some it has been a terrible one. But let us be factual, there have always been good and bad times, it all depends on the prism through which you are looking at it from.

The major factors that determine whether it has been a good or bad year are your mindset, area of influence and your type of work or service.

While stores on the high street are shutting down, most online businesses are smiling and some business owners got richer in the year 2020 for example, Eric Yuan (founder of Zoom), Elon Musk (Tesla) and Jeff Bezos (Amazon) just to mention a few.

While some people lost their jobs, others received new job roles with pay rise just because they possessed unique and relevant skills.

Now 2021 is here, the question remains, what are you going to do differently? What new skills are you adding to your portfolio? What new strategies do you need to consider for your business? What new career path do you intend to take?

The current world challenges will not go away anytime soon, so there is no point waiting for things to go back to normal, you need to create your own new normal. This can be done by thinking aloud, discovering yourself, defining your purpose and walking with it, having a clear vision and setting realistic goals.

Some of us are too rigid and we don't like to learn new things, we are not flexible enough to embrace new ideas and this is quite important in this time and season.

If you are going to turn your pain into fuel for success, power, or victory, then this is the time to polish your gifts, talents and your unique skills. Remember what a wise man said "a man’s gift opens doors for him, and brings him before great men."

Let's talk about Pain for a moment, I will define pain as a necessary but uncomfortable feeling that notifies you that something may be wrong. Yes, pain is necessary because if not for the pain, how would you know that something is wrong?, God knows how much damage the source of pain would have caused before something is done about it.

Therefore, when we go through pain, our victory depends on how we respond to it.

Lets take the current pandemic for instance, its been a wake up call for many people, government, businesses and nations. It has given many people a whole new definition about life, it has redefined our priorities. It has shown us what matters most is good health & family, beyond your beautiful house, cars, cloths & shoes etc. Amazing isn't it?

Personally if you ask me what I am doing differently? How am I turning my pain into fuel?

I would say concerning myself as an individual, I rededicated my life to God as He is my creator and he holds my true profile, purpose and my life. I'm determined to walk with Him to guide me in all my ways, to see me through this year's challenges as it is only wise that I go through this year with someone who is Almighty and has the ultimate capacity to empower me and bless my efforts for uncommon productivity, effectiveness and fruitfulness. Well that's for me, I don't know about you. However, I'm happy to support you if you want to take the bold step by having a relationship with God.

Concerning my family, I'm determined to protect and provide for my family in any way within my capacity and be a blessing to as many people as possible, either spiritually, socially, academically, financially as the Lord gives me capacity.

Concerning my Career, I have been learning some new IT skills especially around Cyber security, Robotic Process Automation, AWS and other DevOps tools as these are quite relevant in today's world.
